Mad Max: Fury Road!
I also enjoyed The Old Guard way more than I thought I would. Clearly Charlize Theron should just star in action movies for the rest of her career.
Fury Road is just pure undiluted action for 2 hours non-stop, and it's awesome. Mad Max 2: the road warrior is also amazing
Rip Hugh Keays-Byrne who plays both Immortan Joe in Fury Road, and the Toecutter in the original Mad Max.
Matrix has insane anti-capitalist themes. Like I could write a whole essay about it lol.
Like the whole plot is about Neo undertaking class consciousness and realising the necessity of violent revolutionary struggle. Once you think about it that way every bit clicks into place, its crazy.
I was honestly surprised how quickly the movie jumped into cop killing. Based.
Commando with Arnie is probably one of my favorite action movies for two reasons. One, the BEST one liner setup, ' I thought you said you would kill me last!' ' I lied.' Classic.
Two, the sheer body count by the end of the film by a single man.
Amongst the genre of 80's action films, I will always put it on top.
John Wick is mindless as shit, but enjoyable despite that. And the action is actually damn good. It's not lefty in the slightest, but it's also not overtly capitalist. Plus, in the 2nd or 3rd one (I forget) there's a canonically nonbinary person (the adjudicator) who's super cool. So yeah, John Wick is good!
The 3rd has the adjudicator, and the 2nd stars Ruby Rose (who is genderfluid IRL and plays a mute person in the film)
is Tarantino mindless enough for you? Django is about the most violent good politics movie out there
From Dusk Till Dawn and its sequels are awesome fun. 3 especially. Once upon a time in mexico is fun too.
Escape from NY and Escape from LA. NY is super stylistic and 80s and it's Carpenter. It's anti-government. LA is very 90s and way cheesier but good fun. It's also totally an-prim.
Road House. The villain is a young Jeff Bezos looking billionaire. Cobra is good in how bad it is. Terminator 2, the villain is literally a cop. I hear Cop Land is also good. The John Wick movies are hilarious in how much they are a CHUDs wet dream
Not too good on the "disposable woman to progress the story for the male protagonist" thing but it is good.
The Rock is the best action film ever made. It is uncontestable. There is literally no way anyone can convince me otherwise.
This movie is fully insane, which is much of its appeal
I'm still speechless how this film's depiction of VX nerve gas was used in an official intelligence briefing as justification for going into Iraq.
connery and cage just have such wildly different dudes rock energy, it's beautiful
I think the Predator would have been improved by removing the scene with the spaceship at the start. Just giving absolutely no explanation for what this thing is, or what is happening. You think you are just in a typical Arnie movie, characters hamming it up, dumb one liners and then BAM! Alien
I like "The Raid" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Raid_(2011_film)
