I always find it very weird when left-wing politics are either represented truthfully, or praised in the media, whatever it may be. Like, what do they even gain by praising the USSR in this example ? It's not like 99% of their consumers are diehard socialists, it's quite the opposite in fact; so why would they take that risk ?
Well it's not crazy that writers of an anti-capitalist videogame snuck in something positive about leftism. They also only mention past examples of socialism or failed revolutions, never AES.
Leftist writers, or at least writers who think and write freely. Not every bit of worldbuilding is checked by the marketing department. And it's not like it's gonna produce revolutionaries.
As somebody who was done writing for companies they're not proud to work with but needed the money, sometimes slipping a few leftist things through can ease a troubled mind.
Artists are majorly fucked over by capitalism. While they are employed by capitalists, the people that actually make the games aren't always pro-capitalist.
Don't have the game so I can't say for certain but a huge majority of people don't read quest dialogs or flavor text. So unless it is some voiced dialog shoved into the story bits like this literally don't matter.

There's no risk at all, no one is going to put down a game because they disagreed with an in-game computer log.

It’s not. Cyberpunk, like the Witcher before it, has very consistent internal lore.
