Chongqing is like the Chinese city equivalent of San Francisco (incredibly hilly) combined with Pittsburgh (start of the Yangtze river) combined with New Orleans Cajun creole cuisine (famously spicy food that combines Sichuanese with other influences coming up the river). Totally work a weekend trip from Chengdu if you are ever in the area.
The Chongqing cliche is "hot weather, hot food, hot women." If you are sensitive to spicy food then you definitely want to make sure to get the hot pot ying-yang style (one half of it is spicy, the other half is mild broth)
