Just because you can’t wake up and say you’re serving the motherland does not mean you can’t wake up and absolutely crush it as a communist in a capitalist world. You can wake up and serve yourself, serve your community, and do as much as you possibly can to dismantle oppressive structures and get us one step closer to a communist future. Do self care, but don’t grow complacent.

“Complacency is the enemy of study. We cannot really learn anything until we rid ourselves of complacency.” - Mao

Edit: we need something corny like /c/motivation or /c/discipline it’ll actually be so helpful

The only issue I have with that is being "the best". By virtue of the word there is only one "best"/"smartest"/etc so not everyone can be that. However, (very kumbaya incoming) everyone can do their best which should be seen as good enough.

This is good, because currently MY best is keeping a streak going for days on the earth and not much else.

I totally agree. It's probably slightly-to-decently pedantic to complain about the phrasing of "the best" and I totally agree with the point of it all.

Just there's a common mental trap of having to be "the best" at something and that if you can't be that it's pointless to try. It's something I used to fall victim to a lot, so I'm just overly careful about using hard line "best" language.

Damn, I still fall victim to that all the time because of my upbringing. It really is as easy as just doing it anyway, though. Thanks for the much-needed reminder!
