      I'm actually working on the data sync piece of this and I'm very glad to be doing so. feels so much less corrosive to be working on something genuinely useful.

        the hard bit about fully distributed systems is actually resiliency. introducing a semi-central component in the middle gets around a whole lot of networking and desync woes. so amazon absolutely will profit on this too.
