tbh the only landlord I had that didn't suck was the one who wasn't an LLC. It was an aunt basically renting their property to their nephew and I was his roommate, so the rent was pretty cheap despite it being a nicer place. It kinda sucked once he moved out but I was only there two months past that.

The worst one was a really small business. My place flooded immediately and they never really fixed it and were very unhelpful with things. My current one's not horrible. Go with a big business landlord honestly, small business ones suck ass and are never on top of things. Big business ones will fuck you too but they're much better at fixing issues. Like small business ones just hire friends and family to fix problems that don't have a fuckin' clue what they're doing. Big business ones have so many clients that there's too many problems to do only that.

I legitimately have a nice landlord. Rent price is solid, he dropped it for the pandemic as well, he's quick to fix any repairs, and also takes money (15 an hour) off the rent for when I help out around the property with stuff. Also includes water, electric, and high speed internet+cables.

The landlord class sucks shit, of course, just never experienced a nice one like this.

Unfortunately he's old as hell and his son is a complete shit head, so if he croaks during this I'm probably screwed.

Faceless LLCs as landlords are incredibly dangerous and lessen tenants already extremely limited power.

They are likely to have far greater resources to deal with tenant organizing, and there's no public shaming a faceless company. And unfortunately we'll see further consolidation into them as the pandemic winds down. A lot of private landlords will give up on being landlords (good!), by selling their properties to larger landlords, including LLCs (bad).
