Anyone have any thoughts on buying a Nintendo Switch Lite? Don't play games on TV so that's not a big concern. Kinda just want a portable console.

The main sticking point with a lite is that an expensive but common stick drift issue means you need to repair or replace a console rather than a single joycon (which is bad enough).

I also have some of the most fun playing multiplayer mario kart and stuff on the TV, so it's nice to be able to convert.

I wouldn't get a Lite because joycon drift is basically guaranteed if you use it long enough. You can get it repaired for free but Nintendo has never bothered to resolve the original hardware issue. If you are a casual gamer you might escape ever running into the problem - I didn't have it for a while, until the pandemic hit.

to me, if you dont really care about playing on a tv the switch lite its a good idea, im sure it has a better batery that the original and its also cheaper

Got one earlier this year and I enjoy it. But I hadn't taken the joycon drift issue into account so IDK. Its also really just a secondary Swith since the other one is usually in a room with someone that works from home.
