Youtube has been overrun by conspiracy theorists and the far right for many years. Even before the rise of the Alt Right around 2015, it was overrun with conspiracy stuff in the late 2000s and early 2010s. They evolved into the far right. I remember when Alex Jones used to get in the top 100 videos watched per day, week and month. The Obama Deception documentary was a real turning point. I first encountered Holocaust denial on Youtube way back around 2011-2012.
The far right have spent years building up little networks and growing on Youtube. Meanwhile, the left is really a joke on there. We end up with the Breadtube people (who are more interested in drama and stupid shit, kinda like the online left in general) or that reactionary edgelord dipshit Maoist Rebel News. A stark contrast compared to the likes of Shapiro, Alex Jones, Mark Dice and others who may be idiots, but have millions of followers.
Your first goal is going to be to try and de-radicalize him by using some critical thinking skills and getting him to question the propaganda he's hearing.
