    Tankie has never been a meaningful term. The fact that it's being used this way shouldn't be a surprise.

        I think it's basically just a word applied ad hoc to whatever socialist someone doesn't like, usually MLs. I just sometimes see people respond to something like this by saying that it's misapplying the word as if there's such a thing as a "real tankie".

        But obviously self-described tankies are a different story lol
