          a majority of americans have been homeless at some point but what they mean by "homeless" is "they moved out of an apartment then the apartment they were moving into fell thru so they stayed in a hotel for a few days". There's even a term for it; the invisible homeless, bc every single one of your coworkers at your job or the ppl at a restaurant you go to could be going thru it & you wouldn't notice, nobody calls the cops to murder them. It's harrowing for it to happen to poor young people bc they're riding the razor's edge & don't have the means to connect the dots every time and have to sleep in their car for a while, but it also allows rich people to claim to have experienced adversity bc their stay at the mar-a-lago was a few days longer than they expected it to be and they had to call the help and change the address they're moving all of that person's stuff to
