Rapid containment of Covid-19 after it emerged in Wuhan let President Xi Jinping restart factories quickly, helping companies seize record export market share.

I love how in western brains everything in a country of 1.4 billion people does is down to one man. The CPC has 90 million+ members, there are thousands of people in the chinese goverments central decision making bodies, and millions of people employed at different levels of government through out the country. But no we can't handle that in our smooth brains, it's all because of this one man.

Also a lot of the initial international spread was from Italy, like the first cases in the US were people returning from Italy.

China had incredibly restrictive flight travel for areas with infection. Restrictions the U.S knowingly violated by extracting Americans in Wuhan including embassy staff. In fact WAPO reported on that very same fact:

But other Americans in Wuhan may finally get their chance to leave after the State Department said Thursday that it was arranging more flights to evacuate its citizens trapped in the Chinese city at the epicenter of the deadly coronavirus outbreak.

The extra flights will be provided beginning on or around Feb. 3 and will have capacity “on a reimbursable basis” for private citizens wishing to leave Wuhan, the State Department said in a message to U.S. citizens in China.

Some 530 Americans stuck in the Wuhan area were aboard two evacuation flights en route from China to the United States on Wednesday, after extended delays that appear to be linked to the political frictions between Beijing and Washington.

The two planes from Kalitta Air, an American cargo carrier, arrived at Wuhan airport late Tuesday. Photos from the airport at 7 a.m. local time Wednesday showed medical staff in protective equipment carrying out health checks on passengers in masks.

Some had been in the airport for 48 hours waiting for information, with speculation that flight authorizations had been delayed by Chinese authorities.

“Two planes have departed Wuhan en route to the United States,” a State Department spokesperson said.

Lol, western capitalism is an utter failure. They sacrificed hundreds of thousands of innocents to keep the economy open and that ended up biting them in the ass. Not only that, but they were warned that this is exactly what would happen.

Modern smashgrab capitalism exemplified by the US can't fathom the idea of investment (the idea of losing profit short term in order to gain over long term). It's why they're in denial about renewable energy, it's why they refused to shut down the economy to contain the virus, it's why they're veering very close into 1789 territory.

As mentioned in the religious document 'Hamilton' (2015), 1789 is when Thomas Jefferson came back from France! Can't think of anything else.

huh, why did he come back from france?

Didn't like hanging out with the king?

He'd learned everything he could from France's top producers, and was looking forward to dropping some sick beats on Hamilton and Washington.

I do love in the show he's surprised Hamilton would dare dunk him by saying Slaves allow the south to make money because they don't pay for labour. Nobody dared push back on him before that moment.

"For politicians who were trying to contain China before Covid-19 wrecked their economies, watching it snap up distressed assets may be a bitter pill to swallow. They might have to choke it down anyway." :CommiePOGGERS:

I like how this reads as if it's China's fault other countries didn't shut their borders:

"But even as it sealed off the viral epicentre in Hubei, flights from China kept landing in overseas airports, helping to set off a pandemic that will have shrunk the global economy by 5% in 2020, estimates the World Bank."
