Yeah, one of the platforms has been abandoned, but the entire station is a mess. And while this is definitely bad, even by NYC standards, it's not entirely out of the ordinary. The amount of "nice" subway stations I've been to in NYC I can count on one hand, while the majority are just slightly nicer versions of Chambers St.
and basically all nyc subway stations look like fucking caves lol ive been all over europe and never seen anything as bad as the mta stations. its not complicated either, the us just doesnt care about its working class.

Compared to NYC subway stations I’d eat off the floor of the worst European subway I’ve been in before i ate off the floor of the cleanest one in NYC
