Counterpoint: farmhouse beers are traditionally the drink of working class farm hands while expensive distilled liqour was for the wealthy.
Therefore my 500ml 8% abv 2 year barrel aged farmhouse saison with ugandan vanilla beans and Malabar coffee that costs $15 is actually more working class than a $12 750 ml bottle of Evan Williams .
I will not be taking any questions.
But unironic counterpoint:
local craft beer is delicious and keeps cash local and is better than sending your money to Diageo who owns 90% of all liqour.
The lots of local places got something for everyone now dark sweet and roasty, crisp n light, bright n sour, fruity, bright n bitter, bight juicy n sweet, they even have boozy seltzer these days
Find your local brewer co-op and buy their beer. No ethical consumption etc. but at least they aren't overtly evil and actually make shit that has flavor.
This is very much my take as well. As a San Diegan it just feels outright wrong to not buy local since we have every option under the sun here—and by and large they're all very good.

I just hate fizzy drinks :/
They make beers that are less fizzy. Ober 11% abv tend to be flatter
Any recommendations tho 👀
Barleywines and imperial stouts tend to be pretty heavy you you'll have the check out your local breweries for the exact product names.
