Also fun fact, Bulgaria is probably the only country in which its monarchic ruler also served a term as a prime minister.

    The article is ok. Not sure why you say that GERB are neoliberal though, they're as right-wing as it gets in Bulgaria and their values are not dissimilar to US conservatives. The protests are mostly organized by hardcore neoliberals. There's no true left in Bulgaria since the fall of the Eastern Bloc.

      Cause, honestly, ideology in Bulgaria is super messed up and I struggle to find the correct labels, and I think you can be neoliberal and conservative at the same time. I know like 3 Bulgarian leftists, and all of them dont live in the country, lol ...
