It always baffles me how many people on the, at least American, left think that Catholisism is the way forward. I get it, you hate protestants, but that doesn't mean that someone who has a history of collaborating with a military dictatorship which was repressing lefitsts is the way forward.
The idea that liberation theology is something that can only be done while propping up a deeply conservative system is just electoralism but for catholics.
