As far as I can tell, it's for trying to dunk on someone with this tweet.
Is he in the wrong in some way I can't see, a victim of overreaction, or do I just not have the full picture?
Amber has some bad takes, Zizek has occasional even worse / downright offensive takes. Both are also among my favorite people to read.
Also, there was actually a huge stink in NYC DSA about Adolph Reed coming to speak, and the Afrosocialist caucus protested until he was cancelled due to problematic views on race. Honestly I've never heard him speak, but it was the first time NYC DSA came up in NYT so we had that going for us :)
