So helping someone I know with their wreaked car. Fixing it is not really an option so they are looking into donating it as a tax write off or something. Do any of y'all have any experience with this? Need to get rid of it soon because city starting to complain. Any advice would be appreciated.

you might be able to sell it to someone who parts out cars, just throw it up on facebook marketplace as a parts car for like 500-600 and you might get someone who wants it.

Wanted to do this but thought maybe with everything going on right now people might not have a lot to buy right now. Still the owner just wants to be rid of it. Thanks for this suggestion though.

people part cars out as a side hustle all over the place so it might be a lot easier to get someone to come pick it up than you think

You're right I think, still need to consult the owner to see what they want though.

Someone out there is always looking for a $500 car if for nothing else than to cut the catalytic converters out to sell, and sell the rest as scrap.

The owner wanted to do this but was worried that the car would just be picked apart and the carcass just left there.
