Reddit always loves to act like the smartest mother fuckers on earth but you literally cannot be sarcastic without having to SPECIFICALLY denote it with a /s or else you just get flooded in downvotes by dense mother fuckers. But here? I can be as sarcastic as I damn well please and never have to worry about it because I know that people here are smart enough to actually get sarcasm and I don't have to go out of my way to make sure my sarcasm is blatantly obvious

        The valuable viewpoints was my /s (and the echo chamber bit)

        I thought it was a superficially plausible explanation except when you think about how many endless struggle sessions there are here.

        I actually think the difference is because people on Reddit are often fucking stupid and can't understand a joke where there is any ambiguity
