No.
The digimon movie is three movies poorly and obviously edited together, none of which are any good together or on their own. The pokemon movie has one of my lil gay faves in Mew and you cannot beat that.
the only good way to make film is to just sloppily edit together random footage, everything else is fascist pure ideology narratives
Even as a kid I thought the first and last sections of the digimon movie were lame, but the middle part ruled and made the whole thing worth it
Mewtwo is a counterrevolutionary who betrayed his enslaved pokemon brothers by endorsing the status quo. Digimon and humans are equals and are respected as such.
Doesn't the Digimon movie have Smashmouth play at one point? lol
Generally the soundtrack absolutely SLAPS. It's also got 'One Week' by BNL and 'Kids In America'
Oh man this triggered a memory in me. I remember having to turn the movie off towards the beginning because something freaked me out so I looked up images just now. Yeah, no wonder I was scared, some of those designs would fit in with Evangelion.
It has better action. Omnimon vs Diaboromon is amazing. Parrotmon vs Greymon is tense. Baby Kari is way Cuter then Mew too. I like the humour more. The soundtrack is amazing. The last third doesn't live up to the first two though.
The pokemon movie is great but the wiping everyones memories at the end is such a cop out. Ash dying does pack a punch though even if you knew he was not gonna stay dead. Mewtwo is a cool too and a great Frankstien homage. I always thought the second pokemon movie was better. The Third was trippy and kind of sad. The fourth would have been a great book end to the series.
My holographic promotional Mew card has appreciated in value from 1/16 of a cent to 1/8 of a cent, I'll have you know
An older kid at school traded me one of those for a Wailord and a Groudon. He convinced me they were super rare. Boy did I feel like a dumbass
Eh, I once lost an entire binder of trading cards because someone snatched them out of my backpack when I wasn't looking
My brother and I tried to figure out who it was, but the investigation didn't go anywhere
Being a kid detective is a lot harder than the books make it seem
Digimon movie soundtracked slapped too. Dunk me in full 90s/ 2000s pop punk.
here I am..
getting older all the time
looking older all the time
BUT FEELING YOUNGER IN MY MIND
A song about abortion, inspired by abortion bombings being on the digimon soundtrack is kinda hilarious.
Having music by James "D-Train" Williams > Not having music by James "D-Train" Williams
Pokemon movie > Digimon Movie (assuming we're talking about the US localized ones)
Digimon show > Pokemon show
Pokemon games > Digimon games
almost all digimon games are kinda ass but the digimon world ones on the psx were really good. Probably mostly nostalgia but I played the absolute shit out of the first one. There's something about building the town back from being deserted to thriving that really hits for me.
I tried Digimon World 1, it seemed really tedious and my mon kept shitting itself
it's an animal without pants, we're in the middle of the woods, why can't it just take a normal shit?
I had to take it to the bathroom each time, or it shits itself so much it digivolves into a literal poop monster
how do you deal with the poop?
yeah the mechanics are somewhat tedious at first and its kind of an uphill battle dealing with them. You also digivolve into the poop monster if your digimon doesn't meet any criteria for a "normal" digivolution. (part of it I think is that it was based on the tamagotchi like handheld games that came out before the ps1 game)
Short answer is you just have to plan for it kinda, theres usually bathrooms around and I think later in the game there's items you can deal with.
Once you get used to the mechanics its not too bad but it's definitely a game where you have to be ready to check the wiki for what you need to digivolve to what you're actually trying to get.
