The news of the government's plan to enforce more curbs on Alibaba sent its stock crashing down as much as 8 percent. Alibaba said it would cooperate with any investigation.

i do believe the CPC wants to transition, but it's such a tense point in time (especially geopolitically) to start sending these signs to the national bourgeoisie and foreign capitalists too
