it devastates me to say our mutual comrade rachel (storyofrachel as you knew her) took her own life yesterday after constantly feeling alone in this world. she leaves behind many friends and comrades who will forever be a better person thanks to her influence. i met rachel on discord about a year ago and after just a few chats with her she caught my attention as a genuine and caring human being. despite all of the shit she got from family and friends that were supposed to support her and her transition, she still saw the best in people and firmly believed that a better world is possible. for being herself, she ended up poor and ostracized, but this didn’t for a minute stop her from fighting for what she believes in and trusting in people to the very end. i know that this site was important to her (i remember her pretty much bragging about it a few months ago and begging me to sign up) and i felt that all of the people she impacted here deserve to know. i have a feeling that she would want us to continue the fight and to remember that at the end of the day we’re all allies. rachel, you will be loved and remembered. thank you for everything. to everyone going through similar things as her, please give others the chance to support you. nobody should have to face these issues alone. trans rights are human rights.

Yup. Exactly what I was thinking. I don't want to be a doomer, but I feel like this is the downfall of this site.
