I think if Trump hadn't have backed out at the last minute he could have had a coup today, easily. It would have kicked off a civil war to be sure, but he had a shot.

If he wasn't such a chicken shit idiot he could have done it.

    this is the correct take.

    i guess what I am trying to say though is that if Trump was anything that resembled an effective political strategist he would have seen this coming and could have seized the moment.
