I think if Trump hadn't have backed out at the last minute he could have had a coup today, easily. It would have kicked off a civil war to be sure, but he had a shot.

If he wasn't such a chicken shit idiot he could have done it.

Crisis averted I guess.

There was a handful of serious Neo-Nazis and militia type guys seemingly looking to kidnap and kill black Democrats among the dipshits today, but imagine how they must have felt when they broke in, looked around and their revolutionary moment was more like the parking lot after a Jimmy Buffett concert.

After the initial breach, the attempted insurrection basically dissipated into a college football tailgate vibe. And I can say that confidently, because I once was at a tailgate where somebody was murdered and everyone else just sort of....kept tailgaiting.

couldn’t Trump just declare martial law and rehold the elections?

Nah, I think he's done. After this absolutely massive cock-up failure, he can't come back from this.

Not without the support of the military, government bureaucracy and bourgeoisie. He's gone rouge now and crossed the line by disrupting their beloved "political process" so he can't do shit anymore.

its true, republicnas and democrats are such large parties and they tend to cooperate. the other groups on the far left and right arent very unified. though if leftists had this kind of leniency with pigs we'd do more too, but pigs will just flat out murder us.

Trump actually got all he wanted. He wanted to feel loved. Because he is a deeply flawed human being who can't even imagine his wife grieving for him if he were to die. Having never known love, and having lost his identity as a "success" in November, and "deal maker" over the weekend, he was about ready to do anything if they'd let him. But he felt loved by the big crowd, so he was appeased. And he went home to sleep the most comfortably he's slept in months. With no thoughts of whether the mob would force Pence to sign over America at gunpoint or if the cops would just mow down his supporters in droves. Because they actually mean nothing to him.

It was just a joke at how much Biden sucks.

But I've been thinking about what Q offers, and my understanding is that it's nothing material, but things like knowing the truth about the government, stopping the elites from being pedophiles, and I'm sure more that I'm missing but it's all irrelevant because they don't GET anything from it. If you offer them healthcare or trains or something material they're likely to go for it. Also, it's my understanding that they have a soft spot for Bernie, as opposed to an AOC-type of hatred that the rightwing media has been trying to cultivate, which is why Bernie would have won in a landslide if he could have run a campaign and the DNC didn't destroy him.

Another thought I had is the difference between being in charge and being a leader. Trump is in charge but he's not a good leader. The good leaders on the right don't have much authority right now and are not as "charismatic" as Trump. Good thing, because if Trump were a leader he could have actually implemented fascism instead of just larping and selling out to the highest donors.

well the only reason they did this was bc it was the only thing they could do about the election results that requires 0 effort & pre-planning, which turned out to also be what made this move toothless.

Sure, but if Trump had have put a modicum of thought and planning into this, he could have seized power.

He could have split with the republicans to form his own insurrectionist party, declared martial law and instituted a crackdown on dissent, declared a paramilitary organisation, or any other number of things, but he didn't know what to do because he's a fucking dumbass and just told people to go home at the most critical moment in the event.

Sad, really. But makes me worried for when an actually-competent-and-not-a-massive-dumbass right-wing leader harnesses these people.

right but if trump had put a modicum of thought and planning into this he would have just had his supreme court overturn the results of the election. The fact that this is the best option he has available also means its not gonna work -- it also requires planning to work, it just doesn't require planning to do

I think that's like assuming you can roll a dice 5 times and it comes up a 6 on each of those roles. Basically everything has to go right for Trump for this to work and if one thing doesn't then it fails.

But the biggest reason why this would NEVER happen... Trump "siezing power" is 100% in opposition to the wishes of capital. They are all on board with Biden and capital effectively controls both political parties and the military rn.

Hitler seizing power was in opposition to national capital. He was appointed to appease the petit bourgeoisie. The same class the folks taking selfies with pigs today represent.
