      Yeah I think if you're a heritage speaker you mostly get euphemisms instead of proper mat cuz parents don't generally swear much around their kids haha. I remember when I was a kid, an immigrant friend who had closer contact to his Russian friends telling me, hushed, "You know, ё-моё and ёлки-палки are actually euphemisms for ёб твою мать". Me: "what the fuck does ёб mea - ohhhh" 😂

          The proper, hardcore mat, for which you had to walk through -40 Celsius Siberian winters, not like that mat you whippersnappers have today!!
