What’s been bothering you about nutrition?

Do you have any questions you've been thinking of asking comrades?

Anything that has worked for you lately that you want to share?

Any healthy recipes that you've tried out lately?

Have you decided you're going to cut out the middle-man and start staring into the sun for energy?

Is there any nutrition science that isn't just an industry trying to make their product more desirable? I swear every piece of nutrition and diet science that I come across that I actually look into was propogated by some food lobby.

Any time someone is trying to sell you something based of "a study" it's usually one funded by an industry.

There has, however, been some research into nutrition that has been publically funded. It's just fewer and farther between than ones funded by industry.

That's mostly true (in my experience at least) of most research in the US.

Yes, quite a bit actually. But you will have to dig into the boring stuff, and even then have to keep an eye open for industry influence

    OATS

So make some oatmeal, right? That's fucking healthy, but its kind boring, and not very filling. While its still hot, stir in a spoonful of peanutbutter in order to give it some more MMMPPH. Now, its still really hot, that's kind of a problem. NOPE. Get some Instant Frozen Berries from the fridge (I do strawberry/blackberry/raspberry usually, you can get big bags of the stuff for cheap if you know where to look) Plop a couple of those in, stir it around, and now its edible-temperature. BUT WAIT, one last thing, its kinda pricey, but drizzle a little bit of B-Grade maple syrup on there, and you've gotta meal. (B grade is actually better than A-grade, it was more nutrients and healthy phytochemicals in it that do your body good, its rated 'B' because its darker than 'A' grade. fucking idiots came up with that, right)

I've largely cut out white flour/sugars over the last five-six months and have dropped twenty pounds. No pizza, white bread, cakes, cookies, etc. Mostly protein (I am sorry for murdering the planet) and vegetables.

Just tracking it. Doing it using my fitness pal is a chore if you dont eat the same things, or your meals get real boring real fast if you do. How do you guys track calories?

Have you tried making & sticking to recipe lists?

I'll plan out the week/half week and go to the grocery store with an idea of exactly what I need so that there's less temptation to get off track. (Hope I explained that ok).
