    There's an incredibly high chance the people you mention were already probably voting Democrat. Only 14% of Americans have student debt, but the perception of giving to college attendees and rejecting a $2000 bid to everyone will leave a lasting impression.

      i dont think its so much about the number of people with debt as it is how fucking huge the debt amount is right now. i think youre downplaying how much 20k debt relief would mean to most people.

      It's par the course for the Democratic party by this point, if anyone's perception is changed by this it just means they weren't paying attention. The Dems will never be our saviours, an independent working class party is an absolute necessity
