I don't have to read this thread to know they are calling every site that has inevitably fucked them over "crony capitalism" and the sites that haven't got big enough to fuck them over yet "real free market".

Even though there's really no freer market than internet tech companies right now, in terms of regulations and subsidy.

The inflection point: if the libertarian keeps thinking this through they'll becomes either a fash or a commie depending on their other moral values. If they shrug their shoulders and stop thinking about this at all, they'll become a republican.

From my thankfully very limited experience, the libertarians I have met have mostly been mid 20's man children with very lengthy and strong views on age of consent laws.

“Compared to the general population,” the 7 percent of Americans who identify as libertarian (plus an additional 15 percent with libertarian leanings) “are significantly more likely to be non-Hispanic white, male, and young. Nearly all libertarians are non-Hispanic whites (94%), more than two-thirds (68%) are men, and more than 6-in-10 (62%) are under the age of 50.”

Why do they always start everything with "as a libertarian"?

I got a call out of the blue yesterday from a libertarian friend I haven't seen since Summer and he said he was getting off of Facebook and withdrawing from a lot of the online libertarian communities because they were clearly going off the rails. Hopefully I'll get to talk some sense into him soon.

I’ve met a bunch of former college club libertarians in leftist circles that radicalized from this kind of thing. Once you apply your values to the workplace it becomes very easy to look toward and move to the left.
