on the one hand, thats awful

but on the other, is anyone actually surprised?

you dont storm a government building with zipties and guns to have brunch, and the cops have been very openly in support of those far-right folks for forever, because some of those that work forces yadayada

Agreed. The capitol thing looks funny now due to how it turned out but it could really have turned out really bad.

i mean, theres definitely meme potential in a lot of the wild and outlandish shit that happened.

im genuinely surprised it turned out to not be really bad after i found out they busted in while politicians were in there.

like... how do you successfully riot your way through congress and not guillotine someone? wtf?

Was she in actual danger or was this some chud on a stream saying “imma assassinate AOC while I’m here lol!” to their five followers?

It sounds like it was a direct confrontation of some sort. We know that chuds can be full of hot air, but I get the feeling there is more to it than that from what I've been seeing. We've seen them froth over her and Ilhan being "literal communists" or whatever (not to mention other Dems) so I really think there was a significant chance of her being harmed.

Also saw on twitter that she said that she didn't want to go to the main saferoom with her colleagues out of a genuine (and founded) fear that they might let her location slip to the chuds.

I'm actually really glad chapo got booted from reddit. It was annoying trying to pretend like it isn't awesome when an old billionaire kicks the bucket

It was a blessing in disguise that we got booted off that hell site even though we have new problems now.

The Squads intense push to impeach (lol) compared with their recent Medicare For All efforts really puts a bad taste in my mouth.

          its the lack of stakes.

your irl friends are, well, real. there are actual consequences to the conversation, so the way the conversation goes is much more important. which is scary, even if you logically know theyll be supportive, because emotionally you dont know.

anyways, i suggest you begin with "sup bb, im trans, plz use she/her pronouns for me now kthnx. p.s. whats the difference between minicakes and muffins, i dont get it??" and then go from there

edit: yes "wtf is a minicake" is a conversation i was just having, at midnight, dont judge me

Do I enjoy Cushvlogs because they are good, or because I deeply identify with "large upper-midwest adult son goes on anti-capitalist, historical trivia-filled diatribe to anyone within earshot"?

Had a client just tell me about a person who works at Google who is on paid vacation to work on a project to find the "perfect exercise routine".

They have come to the conclusion that everyone (not most people, literally everyone) will be doing longboard dancing in the future.

    LMAO

Apparently these turns of phrase (“inverting subject and predicate” or some weird shit like that) were popularized by Feuerbach.

I don’t know much about it personally, but I found it interesting. I learned it from a primo episode of Antifada (one from Nov, the last one on that dirt bag black feed) on Debord, who uses this kind of sentence structure a lot in Society of the Spectacle. I kept getting distracted reading it because all I could think of was that little fucking rat

I’m going to go for an early morning run and then will consider redevoting my life to becoming Military and Spiritual leader of the Western left.

The only thing that’s stopping me from doing this already is that I find you all mildly annoying.

    Gamers - not so much
