You're right, "wiped out" is totally the wrong word choice. It felt weird when I typed it. The indigenous people in the United States are still very much alive.
If I am remembering correctly each state got to choose and create 2 statues of important figures to be permanently placed in the capital.
So Kamehameha being there is much less imperialism display and more Hawaii going “fuck you remember our history” by forcing every tour to explain who he was.
yeah I ended up googling it, it's actually p cool. Like Kamehameha is a national hero but also the statue is a copy of a commission they did as an independent country.
was originally done by an italian though so its not all rainbows
THIRD AMENDMENT MOTHERFUCKER
get them troops OUT the PEOPLES HOUSE
also a little weird there's a Kamehameha statue in there, right?
empires love nothing more than 'respect' for the people they
wiped outgenocidedhawaiians aren't wiped out

I figured you weren't being literal but I wouldn't want anyone reading to be mistaken

Why do all of these statues look so weird and out of place?
they literally aren't even lined up how do you mess that up
They probably had some issues measuring it all up using their freedom units™
But seriously, are they actually always there, or did they just quickly move these in there because of all the turmoil or something?
I looked up Kamehameha & he's a permanent fixture cause the statue base is super heavy. So they prolly all are.
There's also a statue of a Pueblo revolt leader I think.
