the marshall plan was strictly so europe would stay loyal to the united states following the war. if the soviets hadn't been around, there would have been no need for it and europe probably would have stayed in the stone age following the massive bombing campaigns carried out during the war.
Ah I think I might disagree. I think US hegemony would have just been achieved way faster. Too many people/resources/land for capitalists to resist
