the marshall plan was strictly so europe would stay loyal to the united states following the war. if the soviets hadn't been around, there would have been no need for it and europe probably would have stayed in the stone age following the massive bombing campaigns carried out during the war.

    True, if it wasn't for the american aid europeans would just wallow in the mud wondering what to do for the past 80 years. Love the smell of US propaganda in the morning.

        so what? they knew how to rebuild shit already especially after WWI. American capital certainly helped but they would have been able to do it themselves
