Love to be 18 years old, seeing some of the harshest combat in human history and going home to bury my trauma in liquor and a facade of a marriage. I’ve studied WWII for a long ass time and even had a job interviewing the old boys that fought and they’re still emotionally fucked from what they saw and did. These pricks who think that WWII was some noble crusade can fuck all the way off; it was a bloody struggle to stop (or at least mitigate) fascism. I hope to God we never have to do it again but, oopsie doodle the Soviet Union collapsed and the US is teetering on the edge of going all blood and soil so...yay. Maybe Millennials and Zoomers will be seen as worthwhile subjects once we’re all fucking traumatized from barbaric guerrilla warfare.
