The saturation of porn in western gay culture is unhealthy. So many spaces are hypersexualised and it makes me uncomfortable a lot of the time and I'm not a prude or repressed I just like that stuff to be private for the most part. The content is the hook up commodified. Just because it's been abstracted a level doesn't negate the commodification. They are still selling the experience just voyeuristictly.
The Hookup is still between the two people engaged in the act. Recording, editing, and posting is not abstraction, it's transformative. The process makes something entirely new. Even if you don't agree with that then by your own logic sex (including hookups) has been commodified for years from the mainstream porn industry and the blame should not in anyway be shifted onto Onlyfans.
Yes sex has been comodified for ages by porn and this is an offshot of that made avialable by smart phones and the internet. Sex is still a product in porn is the medium it is sold in.
