Adult Swim is a subsidiary of Viacom Warner Media. They exist to produce profit for shareholders.

They do this by finding talented animators, filmmakers, and comedians, and giving them the budget and the creative control to complete projects that probably wouldn't ever air on other networks. this produces a lot of crap, but also a lot of really good stuff.

Check out Joe Pera Talks With You, that was pretty good imo.

Joe Pera is amazing. The episode when he gets obsessed with Baba O’Reilly is one of the purest, blissful episodes of any tv show I’ve ever seen.

I mean, I think they've made some of the best, most important comedy shows of the past twenty years. I'm pretty sure that's just a fact. As far as Based...I guess it depends on the creator? Tim Heidecker has been on Chapo more than once. And watching Harvey Birdman today is like a time capsule of anti-Bush satire at times. But there's nothing especially political about Adult Swim.

Deeply offended no one has mentioned Eric Andre yet, who maybe has the best hit rate of any skit show I've ever seen.

Also, RNC and DNC 2016 are both God-Tier. I re-watch them every couple of weeks.

      Aqua Teen is mostly funny

This other day I realized I don't think I've ever watched this show even once without being baked. Somehow it's my go-to for that.

Lots of hits, lots of misses.

Last week I rewatched the 2 seasons of Frisky Dingo for some reason. If you want a look at what a Bush era millennial critique looked like back when people thought south park was still funny, or what the people who made Archer were doing before they got big then I hope you’re ready to wade through the casual racism, homophobia, and other slurs we thought were normal to say for some reason.

footage of a bear was amazing below are some spoilers but still interesting

      spoiler

___ and if you goto the website in the click ad buttom (now discontinued) there is a website for “claridryl” and if clicked the house it will explore the house from the video. very spooky.

CANT DO SPOILER TAG BECAUSE I SUCK SORRY WARNING

if you like this the “comedy” group wham city comedy does other stuff. they have this house has people in it equally creepy with ARG elements idk are still around (do research on it and people will share)

children of the mirror a culty mindfuck of sorts,

“the weather” which is where callers call in and do improv with the cast basically

please may i enter which uh just watch?

and cry of mann/its sequel cry of warr. which is a drama of sorts version of the weather. very neat

they also made an audio book called automatic transmission that apparently if you solved the ARG they would mail you a cassette tape with more deep lore. neat shit.

they also made fan fiction showdown which is basically just an extended episode of E1 podcast about making fan fics

they are surreal to say the least and i love them

too bad AS cut them like 3 months ago. im sure they will pursue other projects but seeing this fucked stuff at 3 am was cool

      fuck spoiler tags ughhhh

They hosted million dollar extreme world peace, so I wouldn't call them leftist. I think they're just willing to be a bit riskier with platforming others, left or right

ironically that show prove that the "irony" of these middle class hipsters is the subjectivity of a soulless fascist who doesn't believe in anything
