    This is a pretty bizarre and waaaaay too long list of statues. At least they managed to not put any Confederates on it (not that i saw, anyway). Still, it's ridiculous and I hope it doesn't get built.

    Also, this:

      My hunch is that they did this so that Biden can (rightfully) rescind it, and then the GOP can at every opportunity go "well if Democrats cared about [issue] why did they cancel the statue of [tangentially-related person from that list]?"

      why not, they both-sides'd most other things, such as having civil rights leaders and segregationists, native people alongside jackson and columbus, a few token socialists and many capitalist pigs. i'm amazed they had the sense not to put mccarthy or lee on the list
