I bought some acid with a friend and I'm going to be tripping for the first time soon. I think it would be nice to have a bunch of uplifting, cool documentaries (not necessarily about politics) to have in the background any time I want to tune in. Do people have anything they'd recommend?

I thought about watching Planet Earth but there's way too much predation in that. Does Blue Planet not have a lot of death in it?

If you want to 100% avoid death watch a documentary on plants or mushrooms instead

Anything in specific to recommend? I'll definitely start looking, thanks.

David Attenborough's Life series, the insect episode!!!!!!!! The damselfly scene alone IS SO FUCKING GOOD

Plant stuff, you're basically guaranteed time lapses of plants growing which always rules, I'm a fan of Walking With Dinosaurs and ancient animal CGI stuff, anything about space or quantum mechanics is always fun as well.

Also if you feel up to it mentally, Adam Curtis is awesome on acid but not in a good feels way. Depends on mental state and experience with the drug but I do feel there is something not be gained by experiencing non happy fuzzy subjects while on acid. It's all kinds of not for everyone but if it's something you think you can explore safely I think it's worthwhile.

This is my first trip, which is why I want to absolutely minimize factors for a bad trip. Time lapses of plants sounds perfect.

Oh for sure time lapse plants and good vibes. You're gonna be antsy waiting for it to come on, don't worry about it, you'll have a great time. Just do whatever feels like it will be enjoyable at the time. Especially for a first trip I'd keep being able to go outside and walk around as an option, ideally in a forested place, being able to move around freely and being around nature is ideal. You may not wanna be in a situation nowhere you have to stay inside. Keep your options open and set those options up like you would for a child beforehand so if you spontaneously feel like doing something it's not difficult.

Have you seen the chapo-approved documentary, Avatar?

    I hear it's about love.

I had to watch this for my art history class recently, and it was pretty good! Lots of beautiful imagery and interesting history to encourage trippy thoughts maybe

Looks like the whole channel has a lot of cool topics too
