Is it a reaction to libs overblowing Russiagate? Is it because Putin is allies with Assad? Is it running off the nostalgic fumes of Lenin/Stalin? Is it blank anti-American contrarianism?
Just seems like a mobster tyrant who jails his political opponents and poisons non-compliant oligarchs. The treatment of LGBTQ people is pretty shitty too.
Just seems like a strange sentiment to carry in a leftist community.
Putin denounced Lenin and blamed him for the problems that plague Russia to this date, ranging from not fighting for a strong Russia-centric centralized state apparatus, ethnic seperatist tensions (In the current Russian border mind you), the dissolution of law and order within Russia (apparently thinking the feudal Russian empire was better than the space-based Soviet Union is a thing) leading to a tumultuous time for the Russian people, etc. He's even threatened to destroy Lenin's mausoleum and intern his body to the ground somewhere.
He can get a bucket of lava poured on him in minecraft.
Putin also spent at least half a decade trying to get Bush and the US foreign establishment to like him but the US is so smoothbrained they repeatedly kicked him in the shins instead
Well they should probably intern Lenin's body in the ground, it's fucking weird
Actually it's pretty cool.
I don’t think Lenin wanted to be done like that
Have you been? My main memory of it is it being dim, creepy, and off-putting
I have not - I just think mummies are neat.
I actually mention Putin's denouncement of Lenin to libs occasionally, since he criticized Lenin for doing the opposite things that libs criticize the USSR for. As in, the USSR had a less centralized state apparatus than the Russian Empire or the modern Russian Federation and also that ethnic minorities had more autonomy.
