Is it a reaction to libs overblowing Russiagate? Is it because Putin is allies with Assad? Is it running off the nostalgic fumes of Lenin/Stalin? Is it blank anti-American contrarianism?

Just seems like a mobster tyrant who jails his political opponents and poisons non-compliant oligarchs. The treatment of LGBTQ people is pretty shitty too.

Just seems like a strange sentiment to carry in a leftist community.

I have literally never seen anyone here defend Russia. Making fun of libs crying Russian wolf doesn't equal praise for Russia.

    Well... not todays Russia :stalin-garrison:

i only saw one person on the old sub. they were whining about how putin used to be popular on the left as an anti-imperialist until the obama years

This seems like a huge strawman. I never seen people on here defend or praise modern Russian politics.

People do rightfully point out that russia gate is bullshit and they aren't a threat or boogeyman as much as libs like to pretend.

Putin denounced Lenin and blamed him for the problems that plague Russia to this date, ranging from not fighting for a strong Russia-centric centralized state apparatus, ethnic seperatist tensions (In the current Russian border mind you), the dissolution of law and order within Russia (apparently thinking the feudal Russian empire was better than the space-based Soviet Union is a thing) leading to a tumultuous time for the Russian people, etc. He's even threatened to destroy Lenin's mausoleum and intern his body to the ground somewhere.

He can get a bucket of lava poured on him in minecraft.

Putin also spent at least half a decade trying to get Bush and the US foreign establishment to like him but the US is so smoothbrained they repeatedly kicked him in the shins instead

Well they should probably intern Lenin's body in the ground, it's fucking weird

I actually mention Putin's denouncement of Lenin to libs occasionally, since he criticized Lenin for doing the opposite things that libs criticize the USSR for. As in, the USSR had a less centralized state apparatus than the Russian Empire or the modern Russian Federation and also that ethnic minorities had more autonomy.

Can you link to some of the posts that concerned you?

If it's happening that's kind of shitty, but it's hard to discuss in the abstract.

radlibs do nothing but obscure the material relations of imperialism as they slander actual comrades

Just seems like a strange sentiment to carry in a leftist community.

so strange that materialists who have read history think the moralizing of "human rights" is a cover for imperialist genocide. You're an idealist who doesn't understand how manufacturing consent works.
