ah yeah by the time I got to high school it was pretty much mandatory for every dance. Kinda sucked, if you didn't you probably wouldn't get a yes, I knew more than a few people who just asked and they were told "sure but you gotta do a promposal thing"

Damn, that blows. I feel like I got through high school in the nick of time. It was just when Facebook was starting to hit its stride outside of university students, but before people started to plan everything through Facebook, and also before Instagram was popular. I look at my younger brother who's grown up with a smartphone in his hand and an array of social media accounts to manage and really feel for him. I have no tolerance for boomers who shit on zoomers for being self-absorbed or glued to their phones or whatever...that shit is hell, and it's a hell meticulously crafted for us by Silicon Valley just so they can sell advertisements and user data.

I hate smartphones and the internet so much, I've talked to many friends and we all have mentioned how lonely they make you feel and how much they suck. I wish I could go without it but it's so structured into our lives that it's necessary. If I could have been born before or at least not have had them available I would in a heartbeat.

Not to mention the shit you see online definitely too young
