I know that all politicians lie, but I don't remember the last time I saw one this blatant and barefaced.

"Vote like this and get $2000" is a pretty clear cut and memorable promise.

It's on par with Brexit promises. Smaller numbers but basically the same shit. Numbers completely made up, all promises instantly backtracked

Yeah it's along those lines but this one seems even worse.

Brexit's biggest lie was "our money spent on the EU could be spent on the NHS instead" - and while there's obvious problems with the maths (especially in the short term) and the will of those in power then it is something that could eventually still happen.

This one though... Literally just "Want money? SIKE HAHA GOTCHA"

I mean that’s probably the goal. Make 2025 when the $15 minimum wage takes effect, make it an 8 year plan for Latin American immigrants to get citizenship, etc., and then shit the bed on purpose so Republicans come in and undo the promises you didn’t want to keep

Shit, the Republicans will probably use whatever list people may be on for the 8 year citizenship plan as a deportation list and it will have been a giant honeypot of sorts. Nothing is too low for these ghouls, but it’s all speculation for now
