TLDR what is leftcom? Left Communists are people who say "real socialism has never been tried". Socialism requires the abolition of commodity production and money, exploitation, classes etc. No previous or existing socialist society has achieved this.

There is no real distinction between the two. Cuck Philosophy made a really good video on the topic, but TLDR; Marx used the term more or less interchangeably, Lenin introduced the distinction, referring to the lower phase of communism as socialism, and then later "socialism" was used to refer to the dictatorship of the proletariat, which is what we see in AES countries (Cuba etc.).

Yes, that is correct, but I was reffering to the socialism / communism distinction. They made a distinction between the lower and the higher phase of communism, but they did not make a real distinction between the words "socialism" and "communism" per se.
