It's honestly funny/terrifying how quickly consent machine goes brrrrr.

This is my first Dem presidency where I'm like paying attention (2016 was my first election) and damn do they work tirelessly.

Stunning how many people have bought into the $1400+$600 line. I'm sure some are bought but God damn it went from 0-100 fast.

Same. I paid some attention to the tail end of Obama's but no deep diving. This is infuriating because of how relentlessly effective it is. So many people championing the 1400, and ignoring the step down from 2000. So many not caring about kids in cages any longer. So many not caring about the press secretary requesting questions in advance or making homophobic comments on Twitter, and not caring about so many other things.

I remembered them not caring about much, but I forgot how aggressively apathetic they were about what Obama's admin did.

And I don't know if this is a sad thing or a good thing, but I've just stopped getting riled up and constantly fighting this shit online.

There's just no point in combatting it anymore. It genuinely is the lamest, weakest cult. Especially on R*ddit. It's just an endless steam of neoliberal posters calling the Dems' shit chocolate and asking for a second helping.

For right now at least I'm content to teach and forget that hellsite even exists. I know what I think and don't need to affirm it in petty arguments online with Dem drones.

Yeah, I've long since stopped going to any political subreddits, and 99% of the larger ones; I just peruse some of the sports related ones, or the handful of leftwing meme/joke ones that are left

I was just out of hs when Obama was elected and was in the “back to brunch” crowd, after 8 years of bush taking us to war for oil and being a ‘disgrace to the office’ for being unintelligent.

It was the same shit then, “hope” “change” “we’re gonna get out of these unjust wars!” “No more torture” and then it was the same shit: manufactured excuses for 8 years about why we had to do the bad stuff and then we had trump.

That’s why it’s hilarious to me to see libs repeating this set it and forget it shit with Biden’s admin.

Are u fucking serious? U don’t think trump craved the attention from his maga crowd. U think he continued to hold campaigns after winning the election for policy reasons or something?

Joe Biden is a monster and the people who defend him are morally-depraved judas goats for fascism. I will learn to love him when journalists learn to write a story that isn't naked propaganda for the ruling class.

I will learn to love him when he is hanging upside down from a freeway exit ramp

yeah isn't this the particularly-weird trust-fund twitter nerd from new york?

If that one guy says something, it must mean the left loves Biden!

It wasn’t expected to go this way. Biden’s 36-year career in the Senate was regularly attacked by progressives during the campaign. Biden’s penchant for moderation and deal-making with Republicans was seen as a harbinger for bad bills to come, liberals warned.

So far, those fears haven’t been realized.

Right... like the $ 2000 1400 relief fiasco, which will be watered down even further if it happens at all?

The socdem to anarcho-bidenist to just a neolib "pipeline" (actually just a series of masks) exists.

Wait, it's about Data For Progress? Haha! The people who got a seat at the table to "push Biden left". The people that got 2 cabinet picks out 27 losses? Cabinet Pick Tracker, they also retroactively inserted Biden picks into who they were lobbying for after.

And the tone appears to be set at the top. Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klain, progressives say, has been instrumental in outreach to the left wing of the party both before and after the inauguration. Brian Fallon, the executive director of Demand Justice, an organization focused on reforming the courts, said Klain has a respect for advocacy organizations other “insiders” don’t share.

“A lot of people that are creatures of Washington scorn activists and movement people,” said Fallon, who was himself once considered a creature of Washington before becoming a movement person.

Before starting Demand Justice, Fallon would have lunches with Klain about policy ideas and operational challenges. “He's been like a mentor figure to a lot of people that lead advocacy organizations,” Fallon said.

    Pulling my hair out.

Also "progressives say" is some real weasel word bullshit.
