Maybe get her to read Chasing the Scream, I used to be an absolute fuckwit about drug addiction/policy before I read that book. It's really easy to read because it's essentially a series of short biographies you can complete over multiple sittings, and it touches on other social issues including structural racism.

Opening up a pocket of empathy will make it easier to let more in, and hopefully help bring her back to Earth a little.
