People making fun of dead innocents, well, you made the wrong choice.
Innocent is my current least favorite word. Is can be used as a noun but the far more popular media form is as an adjective: innocent civilians, innocent children, innocent babies, etc. The words and phrases are clearly used as a proxy for the people who deserve it - Israelis and/or decent people. Israelis are "innocent (whatever)" but Palestinians are not.
The phrases are a lib thought terminating cliché.
