it's kinda gotten a bit longer and I keep seeing women say longer hair is better so I guess that's in right now and I kinda want to do it a bit longer but idk how. My hair is extremely fine, extremely straight, has zero volume, and it's really dense (like there's a lot of individual pieces of hair and the hair itself is fine). I have no idea what to do if I do a longer hairstyle bc it just kinda looks greasy when it's longer no matter what I do. I also don't know what longer hairstyle to do without it looking just kinda bad bc no volume

Well I've gone to the same barber for 7 years now and it's usually just been I sit down and ask her to do whatever she thinks looks good and then she does it and it looks good so idk

talk to someone who knows their shit, look at pics of things, look at how it handles, compare experiences, ask other people who are older or more fashiony with similar hair, try shit.

Oh hey sounds like we might have similar hair types. Mine is long, fine, and greasy. I just wash and condition every day (before anyone starts, yes I tried the nopoo method for a month and no it did not work) and I comb it after I shower. I’ll gently blow dry it if I need to be anywhere soon after. If it’s dry and needs organizing, I comb with my fingers.

If it looks greasy even when you wash it every day, dry shampoo might be something to look into. I use it every now and then and it works alright for me.

I find that with long hair, even with no volume like mine, as long as it looks clean and neat you don’t really need to worry about a style (unless you want to).
