Last non-essential thing I bought was a keychain flash drive that uses USB-A and USB-C. Now I carry 4 bootable Linux distros everywhere I go. 😎
I had a bunch of bootable drives with filesystem partitions in them in college because I hated the system they had. One of those virtualized windows environments with everything stripped down.
They didn't lock the BIOS on any of the computers though, so I could just boot from a thumb drive and go to town.
