This is the most based the Compy 386 has ever been....but how did you program this with boxing gloves on?
I've got a ZX Spetrum that was my father's. It's a museum piece but it might very well be functional, I haven't tried turning it on
I wish it were less of a pain in the ass to get a ZX Spectrum working in the US, otherwise I'd try to get one.
Even if you can get the right power supply that runs on 120v and mod the video output so it uses composite instead of RF, it's extremely difficult to find a CRT monitor that will accept a PAL signal in the US. I refuse to use 8-bit computers with modern LCD screens, it's just wrong.
Broke: new computer
Woke: old computer
Bespoke: Minitel (you can set these up as Linux terminals for a retro look, by the way - here's one visiting wikipedia)
My parents still have the C64 and Amiga from my childhood at home (I’m an old fart). I must fire them, next time I’m home (god knows when with covid).
Mine was my uncle's and I found it in my grandparents attic. I'm about a decade too young for that one
Sorta related, but everyone who likes old computer stuff should follow https://twitter.com/Foone on twitter. They post a ton of interesting stuff. They rebuild old computer stuff, find random gadgets that are truly bizarre and does very fun projects like run Doom on a pregnancy test (sorta) https://twitter.com/foone/status/1302820468819288066?lang=en
yes! I just got a vic-20 w/ it's box for $10 the other day. I wish my EE skill were better cause I have a few in need of repair. That apple ][ looks amazing, it's my beige whale for sure.
Absolutely! I still have a functioning Tandy. No clue if my apple IIe is anywhere these days.
Retro computer shit is super cool, I'd love to have a space for a bunch of it but, y'know bills and all that.
