No one rounded up and killed Tibetans as an ethnicity, or Uyghurs (even the fucking US state department concedes this), or North Koreans (unless they mean the American bombings and sanctions, but I bet $10 that's not what they mean), or ethnic groups in the Soviet Union (most historians, even those who vehemently denounce Stalin, agree the famine was not a deliberate genocide, read the preface to the Years of Hunger by Davies and Wheatcroft)

At least they oppose the genocide of Palestinians. I'll take what I can get at this point.

Yo, that's insane literal Nazi propaganda being said by (probably) not a Nazi. The liberal mind is an infinite expanse of contradictions bouncing around and never forming a coherent view of anything.

There was no Tibetan genocide (maybe if you count the ruling class that China helped overturn what that class was doing, ok, but specify that).

The Uyghur shit was over blown and the fact is with all available information, removing the anti-China hysteria, we have no evidence of anything CLOSE to genocide going on.

North Korea? Yes, the US and South Korea did multiple genocides against the DPRK during the Korean war rounding up and executing communists and socialists (or anyone lightly suspected with no evidence) and mass murdering them. Not to mention the whole leveling the entire fucking infrastructure of the northern part of the Korean peninsula, dropping napalm all over, bombing everything into rubble.

And Soviet genocides??? Maybe they mean the genocide by the Nazis against Soviet citizens? Otherwise WHAT THE FUCK are they talking about? (I know what they're talking about, and it's a Nazi talking point. And false.)

China's entire message is that being "Chinese" supercedes ethnicity. That doesn't really work if you start a genocide.

If anyone has the energy and finesse to talk to this lib today I'd be so grateful lol, I'm tired as shit and I have work to do

it's tough because the thread is about Palestine, so not only would it be off-topic but emotions are also running high

What's this about the US state department conceding that there's no genocide of Uyghurs? Can I see this document?

They still claim human rights abuses and forced sterilization, which they classify as genocide, but concede there is insufficient evidence of mass killing.

https://foreignpolicy.com/2021/02/19/china-uighurs-genocide-us-pompeo-blinken/ appears to be paywalled now but this is where I read it

https://2017-2021.state.gov/determination-of-the-secretary-of-state-on-atrocities-in-xinjiang/ report summarized in the previous link

I want to stress that this is still extremely distorted. If you start looking for evidence, you find stuff like this from Adrian Zenz, https://twitter.com/abovetheclouds/status/1404918115423633414, not only factually wrong but mathematically meaningless. This is the most-cited guy on Xinjiang human rights in the west. Search his name on this site and you’ll see other examples of him getting caught like this.

I realize a handful of links is not enough to go on, although you should really take a deep dive through those search results I linked. I’m on my phone so I kept it brief. When I have time I want to make a compilation thread on Xinjiang, the last one focused on Tiananmen.
