I saw somewhere where the Union campaign was refuting the idea that a Union would amplify white male voices. Like holy shit that’s the new Union busting technique?
:agony-yehaw:
Kind of like the CIA using environmentalist and indigenous activists as puppet candidates. Just wild to see this evolution

Which candidates/operation is this referring to?
Oof, he isn't good. I'm wary of "eco-socialist" on its own, without some organisational strategy tied to it. If you're representing an ML or reformist or anarchist platform which has ecological goals, fantastic. As the primary focus it always seems to be tied to milquetoast social democratic reforms, idealism, and recuperation of radical environmentalist rhetoric into a bland electoral programme.
Dividing the workers along racial lines but this time in the name of antiracism, so it couldn't possibly be racist ;)
I saw a post about references to racism in media post-occupy.
Part of that is genuine BLM/organizers raising awareness and trying to improve things.
But a part of all this is emphasizing race over any other class consciousness.
and of course there is the whole thing about putting a Raytheon exec in at DoD and celebrating him as the first black SecDef. Everything going on with the Labour party.
Not to be stupidpol about it, but it's absolutely going to be used as a sword and shield.
This is always the best thing. This is what radicalised the content the Onion was putting out, for instance.
Do you think that was because people with leftist ideas felt more comfortable speaking out and pitching things, or because unionizing actually changed people's perspective?
The tech industry is absolutely RIPE for unionizing. It's so cool to see the cracks in the capitalist hold over it finally getting big enough that this is happening. This is only going to accelerate and it's going to be wonderful
Unfortunately huge amounts of people are libs or outright class traitor fools.
One thing that I find challenging in tech organizing is the high proportion of immigrants that are even more precarious in their job position because if they get fired, they have to be deported too. (Of course also, being immigrants to the US, they tend to also believe wholeheartedly in free market capitalism, at least implicitly).
Challenging, but can be overcome.
Verrry nice and good. The timing is great too, there's a wave there, ride it.
Will be interesting to see if these workers are subject to the same anti union....pressures...the majority back workers at Amazon experienced during their recent drive.
Hope they're all getting pro advice on this, like locking down social media, improving online security, 21st century Pinkertons will be on this and playing dirty.
What kind of things would the union busters be doing with social media and online stuff?
So, someone post some links fo medium feeds so I know which ones to click on for solidarity.
I don't normally check out medium.
