    That's a pretty good point. Not gonna say it's a bad thing that people live long, but it's still an interesting point. People live to approximately 66 in currently-existing hunter-gatherer societies, which is also the global average. In rich countries today, of course, the average is ~80.

    This surely has some effects when it comes to slowing down change. Which isn't always bad, but might not be great during a time when we need rapid social change.

      when you have a bunch of un-self-aware rabidly conformist religion infested morons hostile to the very concept of learning and growth, old age gains them nothing but an accumulation of vices.
